I had not really had any interests in Contemporary Art, until I was about twenty-seven. I had been working in the recruitment industry for about four years and knew in my boredom, that there was something else to pursue, that would be more involving and satisfactory. But what?

Eventually I considered 'something in Art' as a career, but at this stage I had only just begun to go to the exhibitions, and one weekend I visited the Hayward Gallery and experienced James Turrell’s work for the first time. This was to have an ongoing influence, and in the end (several years later!!) I resigned from my worthy but dull job, and signed up for a foundation in art at the City Lit-probably the best decision I ever made.

Sixteen months later I completed the course, having developed interests in printmaking, new media, photography and video.I went on to study a degree in Mixed Media Art at the University of Westminster, capitalising on my interests and today I use these media in my work.

I am involved in observing personal neuroses-my own usually, and then creating work from that point. I have developed work, usually constructing scenarios, relating to personal embarrassment, the rat race, and aspects of human interaction through the use of identified language constructs-these can be viewed in 'projects'.
